Professional landscape lighting design & installation
The Story
The homeowners had a beautifully landscaped yard that disappeared at night. We designed a professional lighting system with uplights on specimen trees, path lights along walkways, wash lights on the house facade, and moonlighting in the canopy overhead.
The Challenge
Installing 42 fixtures across a large property required over 800 feet of low-voltage cable. Routing the cable without disturbing existing root systems, irrigation lines, and landscape beds was a logistical puzzle.
Our Solution
We mapped every irrigation line and root zone before trenching. Cable was routed in dedicated conduit where it crosses irrigation zones, and hand-trenched around sensitive root areas. All connections are waterproof and accessible for future maintenance.

Night Assessment
A beautifully landscaped yard that went completely dark after sunset. The homeowners wanted to enjoy their investment around the clock.
Design & Layout
Fixture positions marked with stakes at night, adjusting for beam angles and shadow play. Each light position tested with a temporary fixture before committing.
Cable Trenching
Low-voltage cable trenched along planned routes, with conduit protection at irrigation crossings. Junction boxes installed at key distribution points.
Transformer & Wiring
Multi-tap transformer mounted near the electrical panel. Home runs connected with voltage-drop calculations for consistent brightness across all zones.
Fixture Installation
42 fixtures installed — uplights at tree bases, path lights along walkways, wash lights on the house facade, and moonlight fixtures mounted in tree canopies.
Aiming & Programming
Each fixture aimed for optimal effect at night. Timer programmed with dusk-to-midnight and dawn zones. Dimming adjusted for each fixture group.
Final Reveal
Trees glowing from below, paths softly lit, moonlight filtering through the canopy, house facade washed in warm light. The Nightscape Project extends the yard's beauty into every evening.
